The survey done by BestVendor has some interesting insight into what tools startups use. The survey was conducted with 550 people working in companies with 100 or below employees. In tools like project management and note taking there are clear winners – BaseCamp and Evernote respectively, while there are no clear leaders in phone system space. Also, surprisingly large number of startups use Salesforce.com for CRM and Adobe CS5 for website design.
I also learnt about IdeaPaint – something that could turn walls into whiteboards and hipchat – an enterprise chatting tool.
In the next few weeks, I want to make a similar survey for Indian startups too and see if the tools used by our startups differ from the silicon valley ones.
